ISRO plans to deploy the INSAT-3DS satellite from Sriharikota using the Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle (GSLV) on February 17. GSLV has earned the nickname “Naughty Boy” within ISRO due to its 40% failure rate. This three-stage launch vehicle measures 51.7 meters in length and has a liftoff mass of 420 tonnes. The upcoming launch will be the 16th flight for GSLV.
