The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) declared the results for the class 10 (ICSE) and class 12 (ISC) exams for the academic year 2023–24 on May 6, 2024. Out of 2,43,617 students who sat for the exams, 2,42,328 passed, resulting in a pass rate of 99.47% for ICSE. For ISC 2024, 98,088 out of 99,901 students passed, with a pass percentage of 98.19%.
Although it’s customary for the Board not to disclose toppers, some students were identified as top achievers from the ICSE category. Among them are Sukrit Khanna and Karan Philip from Bombay Scottish School, both boasting a remarkable percentage of 99.80.
Sukrit Khanna, the ICSE topper with a score of 99.80, expressed his gratitude, stating, “I did my best and remained determined to pursue my dreams. Opting for science, I never anticipated being among the top students nationwide. I am immensely thankful to the teachers and our principal for their unwavering encouragement and support.” The class 10 exams were held from February 21 to March 28, while the class 12 exams occurred from February 12 to April 4.
Over 100 schools in Mumbai follow the CISCE board, including prestigious institutions like Bombay Scottish School, Campion School, Queen Mary School, and others. Swara Singhare from NL Dalmia High School, Mira Road, expressed her joy, saying, “I feel on top of the world. I dedicated a lot of time over the past 2 years, studying for 18 hours a day, and I am very pleased with my score.” She secured 99.3% in ICSE.
Deeshaa Dakshesh Barbhaya, a student at the Children’s Academy, Ashok Nagar, scored 99.6% on the ICSE exam. Crediting her parents and teachers for her success, she remarked, “My parents’ support played a pivotal role, and my teachers were always available to clarify my doubts, making everything manageable. Their support instilled confidence in me during the exam.”
Anaaya Pamela Angrish from Bai Avabai F. Petit Girls’ High School, Pali Hill, scored 99.2% on the ICSE exam. Reflecting on her preparation methods, she shared, “Teacher guidance was crucial; I solved nearly 60 past papers, which greatly aided me. Revision is key to maintaining composure and confidence before the exam.”
In addition, Mumbai’s ISC topper, Akshat Jain from Bombay Scottish Mahim, who scored 99%, expressed his satisfaction with the result, attributing his success to the unwavering support from his school, teachers, family, and friends.
Mrs. Sunita George, principal of Bombay Scottish Mahim, commended the exceptional ISC and ICSE results, highlighting the achievements of Sukrit Khanna and Karan Philip, who topped the country with 99.8%. She also noted that the school performed better than the previous year in ISC, with 49% of students scoring 90% and above. The overall passing percentages for ICSE and ISC are 99.47% and 98.19%, respectively. Last year, 2,37,631 candidates appeared for the ICSE Class 10 exams, while 98,505 students appeared for the ISC Class 12 exams.
