BJP MLA Basangouda Patil Yatnal has called for the alleged financial scam in the Maharshi Valmiki Scheduled Tribes Development Corporation (MVSTDC) to be investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
Yatnal emphasized the gravity of the case, noting that it involves many influential figures. He expressed concern that a probe by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) could be compromised by elected representatives, hence the necessity for a CBI investigation. To this end, he has written to the state’s chief secretary requesting the transfer of the case to the CBI.
Additionally, BJP state president B.Y. Vijayendra has also demanded that the CBI take over the investigation into the suicide of MVSTDC employee Chandrashekharan. Vijayendra has further called for the resignation of Minister B. Nagendra.
Vijayendra visited Chandrashekharan’s family and announced, “We give the government one week to meet our two demands. If these demands are not fulfilled, we will organize protests across the state next week,” he declared.
