A state-backed institute in China has declared that it has discovered a method to identify individuals who send messages using Apple’s AirDrop feature. The institute claims to have “cracked” the encrypted device log on iPhones, revealing email addresses and phone numbers of those utilizing AirDrop. AirDrop is a feature that enables wireless exchange of images, documents, or videos among Apple users in close proximity.
