Google has unveiled significant updates to its latest artificial intelligence (AI), Gemini. According to Google CEO Sundar Pichai, Gemini has progressed beyond mere models to encompass an entire ecosystem comprising everyday products, APIs, and platforms that assist developers and businesses. The new Ultra 1.0 model is poised to rival OpenAI’s GPT-4, which powers the paid edition of ChatGPT.
Initially introduced in December, the Ultra 1.0 model achieved noteworthy milestones in text, image, audio, and video processing. Now, it will be accessible to all users as part of a subscription plan. Pichai asserts that Ultra 1.0, Gemini’s inaugural model, outperforms human experts in Massive Multitask Language Understanding (MMLU), a comprehensive assessment of knowledge and problem-solving across 57 subjects. Formerly known as Bard, launched last year, it has been rebranded as Gemini.
Google touts the new Gemini AI for its unique collaborative capabilities with AI. Introducing Gemini Advanced, a novel feature that grants access to Ultra 1.0, Google’s most sophisticated AI model. This advanced model excels in intricate tasks such as coding, logical reasoning, and creative collaboration.
Gemini Advanced is bundled with the Google One AI Premium Plan, priced at $19.99/month (approximately Rs 1,660), offering a two-month complimentary trial period. Additionally, a mobile app has been released alongside Gemini Advanced, facilitating seamless collaboration with Google AI.
