Former India cricketer Yuvraj Singh is set to make a return to the cricket field as he takes on the role of captain for the New York Superstar Strikers in the upcoming season of the Legends Cricket Trophy. Yuvraj has been designated as the icon player for the team, a decision that has significantly enhanced the squad’s potential by bringing in a wealth of experience, talent, and leadership qualities. This move strengthens the New York Superstar Strikers’ readiness to excel in the upcoming tournament.
Under Yuvraj’s leadership, the team will feature prominent players like Pakistan’s Babar Azam and Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan, alongside Keiron Pollard, Imam Ul Haq, Naseem Shah, Matheesha Pathirana, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Asif Ali, and Mohammad Amir. The tournament, which introduces a unique format with each innings consisting of 90 balls, is scheduled to commence in Kandy, Sri Lanka, and will run from March 7 to 18.

In line with the innovative rules of the Legends Cricket Trophy Season 2, the New York Superstar Strikers are gearing up to adapt their strategies to the unique LCT90BALLS format. With regulations stipulating the use of five bowlers, each allowed to bowl three overs, along with a strategic twist allowing the bowling captain to designate one bowler for four overs by the 60th ball, the New York Strikers are prepared to showcase their tactical prowess on the field.
