Mohammed Kaif, Shami’s brother, is being considered for inclusion in GT for the IPL 2024 season. Shami has been sidelined from IPL 2024 due to the need for ankle surgery, as the senior Indian pacer’s recovery hasn’t progressed sufficiently. Kaif debuted in List-A cricket for Bengal in 2021 and recently made his first-class debut in the Ranji Trophy 2024 season.
