Approximately 9.5 crore voters are expected to participate in the Lok Sabha elections across 48 constituencies in Maharashtra. However, as of April 8, the total registered voters in the state stand at 9,24,91,806. Among them, there are 4,80,81,638 male voters and 4,44,04,551 female voters.
Data released by the Election Commission indicates that Pune district hosts the highest number of voters, with over 30 lakh voters in five districts including Ahmednagar, Solapur, Jalgaon, Kolhapur, and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. Additionally, Buldhana, Amravati, Yavatmal, Nanded, Raigad, Mumbai city, Beed, Satara, Sangli, and Palghar each have more than 20 lakh voters.
In contrast, in four districts—Nandurbar, Gondia, Ratnagiri, and Sindhudurg—the number of female voters exceeds that of male voters. For instance, Ratnagiri has a total of 13,03,939 voters, with 6,72,916 females and 6,31,012 males. Similarly, Nandurbar boasts 12,76,941 voters, comprising 6,37,609 males and 6,39,320 females. Gondia and Sindhudurg also demonstrate a female majority among voters, with 10,92,546 and 6,62,745 total voters, respectively.
Providing further insight into district-wise data, Pune leads with 82,82,363 voters, followed by Mumbai suburbs with 73,56,596 voters and Thane with 65,79,588 voters. The Election Commission has initiated preparations for the elections, scheduled to be conducted in five phases on April 19, April 26, May 7, May 13, and May 20.
